Yes, the US tortures prisoners.

We know this because of ex-CIA officer John Kiriakou.

He was offered a job as torturer, turned it down and quit.

When Bush repeated lied about the torture program John Kiriakou came forward.

The Justice Department tried to prosecute him, but could not make the case and declined to prosecute

Then Barack Obama became president and three weeks later, The Justice Department reopened the case and had him imprisoned on trumped up charges.
