The Market Street Police Riot:
Step by Step
The First Citation
A crowd looks on in suprise as a woman who was standing with her bicycle is singled out for citiation. She was one of a large group of cyclists stopped by a police roadblock on Market Street in front of Nordstrom's. The tall man in the pink shirt with the white bicycle helmet will later be assaulted and arrested by police as part of a random police attack on the people at this scene.
The reason this crowd came to a stop in the middle of Market Street? Note the squad car in the next frame parked diagonally so as to block two lanes of traffic. It was one of many police vehicles set up in a roadblock formation on the street. Time: approximately 7:30 PM.
